I'm assuming you mean for a zombie apocalypse? Well they say that familiarity can be a weapon, so for my main firearm I would go with a C7(modified M16 in use in the Canadian army) as I used it for 5 years of my life and can field strip it with my pinky toe in the dark underwater upside-down. I would have some type of light ballistic vest, maybe a helmet, just in case of friendly fire or raiders. A nice military issue machete or spade for close combat and a colt high powered for a side arm.

Melee Weapon: Kukri machete. Rock it in the close quarters, cut straight through the brush.
Firearm: I'd like to have a nice, sturdy mossberg. Shotgun ammunition is pretty easy to tweak/specialize as long as you're careful and know what you're doing. Light explosive munitions, oh yeah.
Armor: Sharksuit(lightweight but durable chainmail) with a dragonskin vest for protection from my fellow man.

Fire axe.
Jeans.
T-shirt.
Leather jacket.
Glock 17.

Ranged: C7 rifle (Canada, FUCK YEAH)
Side-Arm: Colt .45 M1911
Melee: Crowbar, heavy duty

Plus I would love a wooden bolt-action hunting rile for lazy-day shooting

Crowbars for the win, not only can you crack a head with it, but they are incredibly useful for all sorts of things, such as prying open locked doors/padlocks, opening boxes, destroying barricades, stabbing with the ends and all sorts of cool shit.

Armor: T-Shirt + Trench Coat + Cargo Pants. Instead of having a backpack encumbering my torso, why not have many small pockets to hold my stuff? Pockets would probably be easier to reach in and grab something when you need it unlike a backpack.

Sidearm: Ruger LCR .38 Special. Small and compact, only five rounds, but not intended to be used as a primary weapon, rather as a backup for those close call moments.

Melee/Primary weapon: Crowbar, plain and simple. Moderately light and good for bashing skulls in, yet is useful is many other ways than as a weapon.

Ranged;
Probably something that utilises the .22 Long Rifle round; like a Browning 22. Easy to strip and maintain in an apocalypse situation, light and low recoil, so less fatigue to worry about in extended combat situations, the rounds are light and you can carry quite frankly a shit load of them and it is powerful enough,assuming you are not fighting bad guys in body armour, to get the job done.

Side Arm;
Hmmm. Probably a small crossbow of some sort...

Melee;
I have always had a soft spot for the M1905 bayonet. I have one at home, with a nickle plated sheath. Shiny...

Armour;
I have always been of the opinion that wearing armour in this situation will make you overly confident and more prone to making mistakes. I think short of a mask that covers the mouth and my beloved pair of Polaroid - Aviator sun glasses (I don't want zombie juice to splatter in my mouth or eyes) a pair of leather gloves (or hand workers gloves - something heavy duty, but not so heavy that you cant get a good grip on something) would be all you need, no?

Yeah, I figured as much with the battery ad in sig. Processing that piece of information actually hurt though. It gave my brain an owie.

OKay then ..... given infinite choice to design and use whatever equipment I wanted I think THIS is the best equipment you could use.

Armour

An entirely hand-made human PORCUPINE SUIT made in metal coming with the ability in a tight spot to actually shoot off spines of metal. In times of emergency one could simply curl into a ball and roll away from any zombies.


Melee

There is absolutely no argument here..... CHAINSAW NUNCHUKAS. These do take skill to master but used effectively would just utterly mince up any oncoming zombie horde.



Side-Arm
Well only the most powerful handgun in the world. Since you have a porcupine suit and chainsaw nunchukas who cares how many zombies would hear the earth shattering roar of the .600 PFEIFER-ZELISKA revolver. You could play the "how-many-zombies-can-I-kill-in-one-shot" game all day long.


Ranged Weapon
However eventually using your cannon sidearm would get boring and also play havoc with your wrist so eventually you'd want to swap to something easier to use. Enter the miniature "flechette" ROCKET LAUNCHER. This would be built into the porcupine suit tail and used when large groups of zombies were spotted. This would launch a rocket designed to explode above crowds and launch thousands of mini darts into the heads of zombies below.

Anyone who can draw this in action will most definitely earn themselves a clyde.

I'd bloody take anything I can find.

Tier 1:Light tight clothes (comfortable/not easy to grab)
Tier 2:Biker light leather/Light stunt gear (Heavy class)

Armour, Class IIIa with dual trauma plates with hard plastic sectional greaves and elbow length gloves (Hard plastic still. but only on the knuckles of the gloves )

Weapons? Suppressed M-16 variant. and a K-Bar.

A hatchet for muliusefulness and a O/U shotgun for familiarity and classy-ness (also 12 gauge ammo is really common, even the tiniest hick town will have a box or two to sell).

You lot are not realistically picking,.. Guns are a no-go for zombie outbreaks.

Guns can be very useful, and you would be an idiot not to use them at all.

fully automatic weapons are almost useless,
you have to aim for the head so spraying is useless,
shotguns have spread,
snipers are only good at long range,
so maybe you are right pistols are good.

Being from England, I'd be useless with a gun because I've never fired one before (I was damn handy in the arcades though ) so probably be better off without one. Stick to sneaking and mobility.
