yeah, very recently on the forums the guy making it (he's making it alone) said he's been making it for 5 years and wasn't about to quit when its getting good in response to someone saying that reddit thought he was going to give up in a few months. Since its now selling copies for alpha funding he wants to be able to quit his part time job and work full time on it and be able to hire artists and such

Es gibt kein ungefähres Datum...es macht keinen Sinn, zu sagen, dass das Update am Tag X kommt, wenn dann doch wieder etwas dazwischen kommt. Es ist auch für die Entwickler nicht vorhersehbar, wann das Update kommt. Die wollen's auch so schnell wie möglich rausbringen. Ist ja nicht so, als würden die einfach nur gerne 'n Datum raushauen und sich dann in ihr Fäustchen kichern, weil wir wie Hirnis warten...

You've never seen a game developed this slowly probably because you've never seen a game developed at this stage, nor should anyone outside of the actual development team. Project Zomboid was forced into the spotlight pre-alpha (correct me on this if I am wrong, please.) Generally, most of their updates at this point in development are system and infrastructure-based, not content-based, meaning on top of all of the nitty-gritty unfun stuff they have to code for the game to work, they have to add things to keep their surprise-community happy.

This is a very difficult thing to do and keep balanced, especially considering the numerous tragedies that seem to follow after them. Worse yet, deciding to stop pleasing the community in order to advance the game under a more natural/proper alpha development schedule would be the worse decision, as they'd risk losing quite a bit of internet interest that's accumulated -- something that even the best of games can fail to obtain, unfortunately.

Shit happens, and you need to understand that, had they had it their way, they likely would not of wanted to release this early. Instead, they're working on what they should be working on, alongside all of the things they want to be working on to make everyone interested in the game stay interested, and have fun.

Please be patient and try to be more understanding. This game's potential alone deserves that much.

I have been watching the forums for a while now, and after everything i have seen i felt that i should say something to the Devs. I have been, and will continue to patiently wait for you all to reach that grand day that you can call the game release-worthy. From everything i have gathered i can tell that you all are so very passionate about making this a realistic survival game. And i cannot express enough how much i share that passion. For years I have wanted to experience zombie game that captures the true meaning of trying to survive by whatever means.

I for one am glad they haven't released an update yet... means they are probably busting their chops trying to get the game molded into a fun and exciting experience for everyone.
My tiny voice may not be much in this sea of posts, but i just wanted you guys to know that i am here, and i am very excited for this project.

I feel exactly the same and I dont care how long it takes as long as they make this the best damn zombie game out there!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the problem Is optimization, why you don't you just release an unoptimized version and keep working on it while we are try to play that version?

When correcting someone, I find the best way to not come off as an asshole is to go and an make an ass of yourself, then point out to everyone that no one is perfect. It's flawed logic, I admit, but maybe someone will see the humor in it.
