Wow, really. You're usually the one who's telling people off for not doing the obvious things first, now you're telling off the person who's suggesting they do all the obvious things first. I'd call you a hypocrite but I figure you just like telling people off, either that or this forum has changed quite a bit since I've been gone.

Whatever the case, there is a lot of people who don't even use the search function on forums for an answer to a common question, so I'm guessing that they'll be just as many people who won't try too hard to fix a problem themselves before going to a forum for advice. Then again, this could be that 2% that tries everything else first (something which I always do, and I've only once asked for advice on a forum, because someone else almost always has the same problem).

And an age restriction is a stupid idea. Age is no indication of maturity.

Maturity increases with age, not because of age but because of intelligence and life experience. You could say age can be used as a indirect measurement of maturity. Say we increased the minimum age to 21. Sure, there would still be immature people, but less of them. Less flame wars, threads going off the rails, extremely poorly thought out questions and developer stress/frustration.

Like the other guys said, though. There would be no way to enforce it.

Whether or not age is an indicator of maturity, most people under the age limit will just lie when signing up so it is a no go from the start.

if you want to test 0.2r on a really slow machine, mine is the slowest. i'll withold specs until everyone else has posted theirs

and if you want a really fast one, i bet i have the fastest one too (i post my specs last though)

and if you want a mid range one, i have the most mid range one here.
